Unlocking the power of Unilode’s data
Unilode owns, manages and repairs the world’s largest fleet of Unit Load Devices—the containers and pallets that go onto planes with everything from baggage to cargo.
With over 170,000 Unit Load Devices (ULDs) to monitor, manage and maintain—you can imagine it’s quite an undertaking to make sure everything is running smoothly, so that we receive our goods when we need them.
Unilode wanted to delight customers with a move to real-time information that enables them to see accurate location and usage data of ULDs.
This information is now accessible via the Unilode customer portal.
Revolutionising asset tracking with cutting-edge tech
With Slalom’s help, Unilode’s centralised data repository now provides a unified view of Unit Load Devices and related information. Leveraging cutting-edge Databricks functionality on AWS and a data lakehouse architecture, the solution combines the capabilities of data lakes and data warehouses. Reducing data silos to empower business intelligence, and machine learning advancements at scale, across all of Unilode’s data.
Unilode’s customer portal, built using React, seamlessly integrates with the data lakehouse. Providing Unilode customers with access to the information they need to drive business decisions and to get the most out of their services.
Invoicing—a really critical part of any service—has been further enhanced too, so customers can have even greater visibility and control of their spend, with ease.
